Sérgio Martins nominated for ‘Oscars of Animation’ with Klaus

Nominated for the Annie Awards, Portuguese Sérgio Martins, who award animation films, in the category of Best Director of Feature Animation.

Spanish producer SPA Studios’ Klaus movie is available on Netflix, in addition to Sérgio Martins, two short films are nominated, awards given annually by the International Animation Film Society

Named in the category of Best Short Film, the short films ‘Uncle Tomás, The Accounting of Days’, by Regina Pessoa, produced in France, Portugal and Canada, is a tribute to the uncle of director Regina Pessoa.

It already has the Grand Prize of the International Animation Festival of Brazil – Anima Mundi, the Jury Prize of the Annecy Animation Film Festival in France and the Best Original Music Prize. It also received the 43rd Special Jury Prize. Cinanima – Espinho International Animation Film Festival.

The other named ‘Purpleboy’, by Alexandre Siqueira that addresses the issue of gender identity and won the best short film award from the International Animation Festival of Pernambuco and the best-animated film at the Curtas Festival of Vila do Conde.

‘Klaus: The Origin of Santa Claus’ by Spanish Sergio Pablos has a team from over 20 countries, including the Portuguese: Sérgio Martins, ‘Animation Supervisor’, and Edgar Martins, ‘Story Department Supervisor’.

The Annie Awards will be held January 25 in Los Angeles.
