It is a different mountain than usual, once more like a sea of shale-rounded heads that follow each other to the horizon, resembling a primitive ocean petrified by some cosmic catastrophe.
It separates the Alentejo from the Algarve over many tens of kilometers. Some roads allow you to unravel this fascinating and little known world of tourists. They are the ones that lead from Tavira to Cachopo and from there to Martim Longo (EN397).
The secondary roads from São Brás de Alportel to Cova da Muda, Boar, Parises, etc. Or finally, the road that leaves Salir towards Almodôvar, crossing a deep valley in the Sítio das Éguas area.
