Seven districts of the country’s coastline are on Monday under yellow warning due to sea turmoil, with waves that can reach 3.5 meters, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) said Sunday.

The meteorological warning will be in effect in the districts of Lisbon, Leiria, Coimbra, Aveiro, Porto, Braga, and Viana do Castelo between 21h00 on Monday and 18h00 on Tuesday.

According to the IPMA, from Porto to Viana do Castelo waves are expected between two and 3.5 meters, and in the remaining districts, on the coast, the forecast is for waves between 1.5 and 2.5 meters.

In all districts covered by that warning, strong downpours are expected.
