The Americans Slipknot will perform on July 4 at Restelo stadium in Lisbon, being the first announced band of VOA – Heavy Rock Festival, that moves to the Portuguese capital, the organization revealed.
The rock and metal festival, which originated in Vagos in 2009, and then relocated to Corroios, has a new house, now in Lisbon, on July 4 and 5, 2019, with the Slipknot as the first heads of-poster.
According to the organization, “after a year of interregnum for restructuring”, the VOA – Heavy Rock Festival will be renewed in 2019 in Lisbon, celebrating ten years since its creation.
The Slipknot, who has performed several times in Portugal, will embark on a new tour in 2019, which will include a series of concerts in June and July in Europe and, for the first time, a performance in August in Des Moines (Iowa), where they emerged in 1995.
In 2019, the Slipknot complete two decades of editing the first album, namesake, but in recent interviews, the band revealed that it should also be the year of a new registration of originals.
The latest Slipknot album, ‘5: The Gray Chapter’, is 2014.
