Sol da Caparica returns Thursday with four days of Portuguese music

The festival O Sol da Caparica, dedicated to Lusophone music, returns to Costa da Caparica, in Almada, from Thursday with a poster that includes Matias Damásio, Mariza, Carlão, Luísa Sobral, Ludmila, Captain Fausto and Seu Jorge.

In its 6th edition, Sol da Caparica, which takes place in Costa da Caparica Urban Park, “once again plays host to the largest festival dedicated to Lusophone music”, repeats a day dedicated to children and presents for the first time a stage dedicated to comedy.

The festival kicks off Thursday with performances by Anselmo Ralph and friends Benjamin, DAMA, Dany Silva, David Carreira, Flak, Kyaku Kyadaff with Rui Orlando, Leo Prince with Halison Passion and Twenty Fingers, Linda Martini, Matias Damásio, Mayra Andrade, Mary N and Rich & Mendes. On that day, they pass by the stand-up comedy stage Eduardo Madeira, Dário Guerreiro and Catarina Matos.

On Friday, composes the musical poster: Seu Jorge, Mariza, Carlão, Fred, I Love Funk Ball, Luís Represas, Luísa Sobral, Jafumega, Diana Lima, The Happy Mess, Lookalike and Dany Silva. Representing the comedy will be Diogo Batáguas, Jel and Rui Cruz.

For Saturday are scheduled the performances of Ludmilla, Gabriel O Pensador, Richie Campbell, Mishlawi, Plutonio, Truekey, Boss AC, Capitão Faust, Supreme Force, Karetus, RIOT and Supa Squad and the humorists Guilherme Duarte, Vasco Correia and Manuel Cardoso.

Sunday, as in previous editions, the day is dedicated to children. On that day will be presented Mao Verde, a project that joins rapper Capicua and Linda Martini guitarist Pedro Geraldes, O Recreio da Anita, “a digital phenomenon with over 70 million views on Youtube”, and Porbatuka, a music by percussion, from the municipality of Almada, “which aims to give all its elements musical formation, technique accompanied by movement, choreography and dance”.

That day, “in addition to the onstage attractions there will be different parallel activities in the enclosure such as face painting, skateboarding, dancing, graffiti and a mega inflatable park.”

The festival O Sol da Caparica is an organization of the Municipality of Almada, this year in partnership with the Chiado Group.

In March, the municipality revealed that it changed partners in the organization of the festival, with a protocol of 70 thousand euros, which allows “a significant saving of public funds, which will be channelled for investment in other strategic, social, cultural and tourist areas”.

The municipality of Almada revealed to have accumulated loss of close to five million euros with the holding of five editions of the festival O Sol da Caparica, which led her to look for a new promoter.
