Strong rain postpones start of duel between João Sousa and Federer

The start of the third day of the Masters 1000 tennis tournament in Rome, which included the clash between Portuguese João Sousa and Swiss Roger Federer, was postponed today due to heavy rain.

The fields of the sports complex where the competition is taking place were covered in order to preserve the clay, and it is not expected to start again before 11:30.

The games of Spanish Rafael Nadal and Serbian Novak Djokovic have also been postponed and should follow the duel of João Sousa and Federer, who opens the fifth day of the tournament in the central court.

The rain caused on Tuesday the delay of the match between Elina Svitolina and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, who eventually managed to eliminate the Ukrainian, current title holder of the tournament.
