”Tertúlias Poéticas das Nações” at Casino Lisboa

Casino Lisboa opens, on Tuesday, January 28, at 9 pm, the 2nd edition of the cycle “Tertúlias Poéticas das Nações”.

With a new and diversified program, the 1st session is dedicated to Portugal and pays tribute to Luis Vaz de Camões. After the success registered, in 2018 and 2019, the Beltejo restaurant, on the 3rd floor, welcomes this new cycle that results from a partnership between Casino Lisboa and the Parque das Nações Residents and Entrepreneurs Association – AMEPN. Admission is free.

With the organization and coordination of José de Figueiredo Costa and Ana Maria Catarino Doria, the 1st session of the “Tertúlias Poéticas das Nações – Casino Lisboa” presents the following tribute program to Luis Vaz de Camões:
Opening: Profª. Irene Tomé starts the program with “Introduction to the Lyric of Camões”
Lecture on the poet: Prof. Doctor António Martins Gomes
Music: João Sabbo – Flute
Live painting: Master watercolour artist Carlos Santos Marques

Music: Prof. Hermenegildo Ferreira Borges, in an acoustic viola, closes the gathering by singing and singing ‘Green are the fields’, by Luís de Camões, with arrangement by José Afonso.

It should also be noted that Profª. Irene Tomé, Prof. Doctor António Martins Gomes (Camonian speaker) and Prof. Hermenegildo Ferreira Borges are professors at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa – FCSH UNL.

Following the first edition, where the countries of the CPLP – Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries were invited, in this year’s edition, there will be a number of countries in northern Europe that are distinguished by their cultural richness and the originality of their national poetry.

The cycle of “Tertúlias Poéticas das Nações – Casino Lisboa” is distinguished by creating a social space in the parish of Parque das Nações, where shared culture is revealed as its central pillar. Culture is usually in evidence through Poetry, Music, Photography and Painting.

With multiple poles of interest, this year’s edition is renewed on the last Tuesday of each month (except in February, whose event takes place on March 3) at the Casino Lisboa’s Beltejo restaurant, until November 2020.

Access to Casino Lisboa is free, and from 10 pm, it is for over 14 years old, and over 10 years old accompanied by their parents. In the game areas, it is for over 18 years.
