The only zero-carbon hotel in Portugal is in Lisbon
NEYA Lisboa Hotel has just added another milestone to its work in the area of sustainability, renewing its Carbon Zero Certification and becoming the country’s only carbon-neutral hotel with this certification.
NEYA Lisboa Hotel has just added another milestone to its work in the area of sustainability, renewing its Carbon Zero Certification and becoming the country’s only carbon-neutral hotel with this certification.
Achieving thus the goal, set in 2018, of becoming a carbon neutral hotel, contributing to the mitigation of global warming and climate change on the planet.
In 2017, the hotel achieved an additional reduction of 27.7% of carbon emissions emitted to the atmosphere, totalling 202.9 tons of CO2e. These emissions will be offset, this year, through a plantation action carried out in a national forest area.
Last year, NEYA Lisboa Hotel established a partnership with Ponto Verde Serviços, which calculated CO2e emissions, resulting from energy consumption, mobility, stays, transportation of raw materials and waste production.
Last November, carbon emissions for 2017 were offset by a plantation action of 750 trees in the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park in Marvão, thus minimizing their impact on the environment.
