Netflix’s miniseries ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ has been one of the most talked about and commented on today, so it’s not surprising that it has become one of the most viewed streaming services.
The series was viewed by 62 million accounts in the first four weeks alone, very close to figures shown by Martin Scorsese’s film ‘The Irishman’ and the documentary ‘Tiger King‘. In addition to becoming the most viewed miniseries on Netflix, ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ has also catapulted the book on which it is based to The New York Times bestseller list, 37 years after the original release.
Being a series with chess as one of the central themes, Netflix says that the company Goliath Games has seen an increase in chess sets in the order of 170%, making the board game again popular.
