The Simon and Garfunkel Story

A show on the music and life of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, The Simon and Garfunkel Story, took place last February, at 21.30h, in Lisbon.

Already shone in 50 countries, having been seen by more than 250 thousand people, receiving a standing ovation from the public, as well as from the critics.

With the voices of Sam O’Hanlon and Charles Blyth, Paul and Art respectively, these two extraordinary musicians took us on a journey through time where great themes were played.

With ‘The Sound of Silence’ a great musical night began. During the performance, videos of American daily life, from leisure to the war in Vietnam, Cuba, were always shown, not forgetting the conquest of the moon.

The duo Simon and Garfunkel received 3 Grammys, have more than 25 million records sold and were included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

His favourite music genre is Folk music, many of his songs were inspired by that style, but also in Folk Rock, World Music and Soft Rock.

Although they were the best of friends, they also had complicated moments, their latest album “Bridge Over Troubled Water” was postponed several times, but also their biggest success.

The duo split up in 1970, but for the story, there are themes like “Hey School Girl”, “Leaves That are Green”, “Kathy’s Song”, “I’m a Rock”, “Scarborough Fair”, “Mrs Robinson”, “The Boxer”, “Bye Bye Love” and “Bridge over Trouble Water”.
