The summer months so prolific in cultural offerings left the scene. But October took the stage and with it brings a very varied and free cultural program in Greater Lisbon and Greater Porto.

Cinema and ethnic diversity are prominent at Invicta. This weekend marks the 5th edition of MICAR – International Anti-Racist Cinema Show. The big screen at the Rivoli Theater will show minority films and some are even not to be missed.

In Lisbon there is an exhibition that explores other senses than vision. It is called ‘See with other eyes’, it will be at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and emphasizes the work done with people with blindness or with low vision.

Lisbon International Contemporary Exhibition

Atelier Natália Gromicho hosts the 5th edition of the international exhibition that presents a selection of artists from all over the world. On this 5th anniversary they will present a great variety of artistic expressions, such as Photography, Sculpture, Painting, Installation and some surprises … Olivia Moelo, Domingo Parada, Nancy Woolf-Petty John, Carlo Benocci and Yoku Yu are some of the artists that will participate in this year’s event. Flea Market Alcântara

The first Saturday of each month is a special date for those who enjoy comics. An opportunity for collectors to try to buy another book or figure. But at this fair you can also sell some comics, manga or games that you no longer want. It is organized by Gateway City Comics in conjunction with the Parish Council of Alcântara. If you want to have a place to exhibit your products, you must register previously through the following email: ruteserra@gatewaycitycomics.pt. Subscriptions are limited to existing space.

Concert at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum

The atrium of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum hosts free concerts on the first Sunday of each month. This Sunday the pianist Daniel Cunha will play works by Alfredo Napoleão and Enrique Granados. The concert will take place at 12h00. You can consult the program here.

Waze on Fnac

The artist who already has more than 20 million views on YouTube shows Karma, the most important Portuguese rap album in 2018. To listen to Vasco da Gama’s Fnac on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Later, at 10:00 pm, a new opportunity this time at Fnac do Almada Forum.

See with other eyes

The exhibition aims to explore different processes of interpretation of works, through other senses than the vision – touch, hearing – in order to facilitate the access of people with visual impairment to the arts. The exhibition illustrates the work done with blind or low vision people, encouraging personal and artistic expression through photography. This exhibition shows the photographic work done by people with visual impairment. Using tactile images with audiodescription, it is accessible to a blind or low-vision audience. The exhibition ‘See with other eyes’ will be evident in the headquarters building of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation until November 12.
