Two dozen international galleries in Drawing Room Lisbon

Two dozen galleries and works by artists such as Adriana Molder, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Jean Dubuffet and Hanns Schimansky are featured in the first edition of the Drawing Room Lisbon, taking place at the National Society of Belas Artes in October, the organization announced.

The Drawing Room takes place in the Portuguese capital, from October 10 to 14, after three editions in Madrid, with the aim of establishing itself as a “landmark of contemporary art”.

The artistic director of the fair, the curator Maria do Mar Fazenda, highlights the adhesion of Portuguese and foreign galleries to the initiative, as “a sign of the recurrence of drawing in artistic practice” and underlines the number of solo projects produced specifically for the hall, or small collective shows that “call for dialogue between artists, crossing generations and established careers with emerging names.”

Among the more than 50 artists represented, Jorge Martins, Miguel Palma, Pedro AH Paixão, Cecília Costa, Emmanuel Lafont and José Bechara are among the 50 artists represented. , besides Adriana Molder and Pedro Cabrita Reis.

The direction of the Drawing Room Lisboa also counts on the art historian Mónica Álvarez Careaga, responsible for the commissariat of projects in Arco Madrid and Swab Barcelona, among other great exhibitions of contemporary art.
