Two Portuguese shorts selected for Montreal film festival

The Festival is celebrating its 49th edition from the 7th to the 18th of October with screenings and will continue until the end of the month, with online sessions.

In the international competition will be the film “O nosso reino”, second short film by Luís Costa, inspired by the homonymous novel by Valter Hugo Mãe.

Produced by Bando à Parte, the film will have a world premiere at the Curtas de Vila do Conde festival, which starts on October 3, says the agency of the Short Film.

In Montreal, the competition of the first work will feature “Meine Liebe”, an experimental documentary by director Clara Jost, about the life cycle of a small tomato.

The film earned Clara Jost the prize for best short film by the IndieLisboa jury.

The official selection of short films at the Nouveau Cinema festival in Montreal will feature 88 films from 30 countries, including “Filipiñana” by Rafael Manuel Mendoza, Silver Bear this year in Berlin, or “Sun dog” by Dorian Jespers, awarded in Rotterdam.
