U2 confirms donation of €10 million to fight the new coronavirus

The rock band U2 donated 10 million euros (€10 million) to buy personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical items to be used to fight the new coronavirus in Ireland.

A spokesman for the group, originally from Dublin and formed by Bono Vox, The Edge, Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton, explained on Thursday that the amount was allocated to a fund created by the airline rental company Avolon.
