The University of Coimbra (UC), the Intermunicipal Community of the Region of Coimbra (CIM RC) and the Pedro Nunes Institute (IPN) join efforts to face the crisis caused by the pandemic of COVID-19, through the creation of “COIMBRA2030 – Platform for o Coimbra Region Development – Task Force Covid19 – UC-CIM-IPN ”.
The public launch of this Platform for the Development of the Region of Coimbra will take place tomorrow, April 29, in a remote Press Conference that takes place at 4 pm through the ZOOM platform (access to the session can be made from 3:45 pm), with the presence of the Rector of the UC, Amílcar Falcão, the President of the CIM, José Carlos Alexandrino, the President of the IPN, Teresa Mendes, and also the Director of the FEUC and CeBER.
The initiative, which is coordinated by CeBER – Center for Business and Economics Research, from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC), aims to put the knowledge and knowledge of the University of Coimbra to look to the future, supporting economic development and future social development of the Coimbra Region.
It is a truly collaborative work with partners in the region, at a time when solidarity is fundamental, with a view to the economic and social recovery of the Coimbra Region in the post-pandemic framework.
This is a very important project for the Region of Coimbra, of synergy between institutions that intends to collect and provide information and practices, regional and international, that support the decision making of regional agents, carry out studies to support the development of public policies , as well as supporting the development of the monitoring structure; make recommendations for the definition of measures and monitoring of Support Measures for Companies and Families of CIM RC and respective Municipalities.
