The women’s team secured a place in the World Cup final after defeating England 2-1 in the semi-finals. The Americans are now waiting to know which team they will play in the grand finale: the Netherlands or Sweden.
In a game of great excitement from start to finish, all goals came in the first half. After 10 minutes, Press opened the scoring in Lyon with a great header.
The English response did not wait and in the 19th minute, Elle White completed a beautiful play from the selection of the three lions and relaunched the tie in the match.
However, Alex Morgan, still before the break, once again put the USA ahead on the scoreboard.
In the second half, the English team tried to respond and even got to tie the match. However, the second goal of the night, recorded in the 65th minute, was canceled by the VAR. At stake was White’s erratic position as he set off for the American goal.
