It was in 1998 that the local song, now a World Heritage Site, won its own house when it opened the Fado Museum in Alfama.
Now, celebrating 20 years, the festival is celebrated with an exhibition and concerts and projections of video mapping on the facade of the museum from Friday 23rd.
There are five nights of 10-minute video mapping shows on the façade of the museum that takes viewers on a journey through the history of fado, from the nineteenth century to the present day, and where you can see audiovisual records of Carlos do Carmo, Camané, Mariza and José Manuel Neto.
The sessions, produced by the workshop The Cube, take place at 20.30, 21.00 and 21.30 and are free entry.
