African Legend is what the international press calls it. Waldemar Bastos is one of the world’s greatest artists of World Music.
Born 63 years ago in the province of Sao Salvador do Congo (Angola), music has been in his blood almost since he was born. Waldemar is a “singer” of stories,
from the Atlantic to the long mountains of Africa.
He worked with David Byrne, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Chico Buarque, shared stages with Jacques Morelenbaum, recorded with the Gulbenkian Orchestra and was the only non-Portuguese musician to have the honor of singing in the National Pantheon in honor of fadista Amália Rodrigues.
Its sound is unique, so it fills audiences from Japan to Brazil, from Germany to the United States and of course Portugal.
