Sales on Worten.pt tripled from January to August 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, which resulted in a doubling of the brand’s online market share in the first half of this year, consolidating its leadership in e-commerce in Portugal .
The Worten website is the most visited e-commerce platform in Portugal, reaching more than 1.5 million Portuguese people every month, according to Marktest data. The growth in the capacity of the brand’s online operation to cope with the exponential increase in demand in this channel (which the pandemic has reinforced), allowed an increase in average customer satisfaction by more than ten percentage points.
The performance of the Marketplace also contributed to this growth, a business area launched by Worten in 2018 and which has been diversifying its product and partner offer in different categories, integrating, since April, Sonae Group brands such as Well’s, notice! and Zu.
With this growth, Worten’s Marketplace reinforces its leadership position in Portugal, with around 1200 “sellers”, representing about 20% of total online sales in Portugal.
The reinforcement of the company’s commitment to the growth of digital channels, materialized, among others, in the fourfold increase in the capacity of the logistical operation that supports them, has enabled 85% of orders to be delivered ahead of schedule, which has been recognized by buyers on Worten.pt, whose satisfaction has grown by more than ten percentage points in recent months.
